Title: Detecting Hazards in Nuclear Power Plants using the FireWatch Cart
Abstract: Since 2020, rapid advancements in artificial intelligence have significantly increased energy consumption due to the computational power required for complex models. To meet these escalating energy demands sustainably, there is growing interest in utilizing nuclear power as a green energy source. However, safety concerns-such as the risk of catastrophic events from undetected anomalies-have historically hindered its adoption. In response, our research team, in partnership with the Utilities Service Alliance, has developed the Fire Watch Cart. This innovative system is engineered to detect, alert, and predict potential hazards within nuclear power plants using advanced sensors, neural networks, and MQTT technology for real-time monitoring and early warning. By significantly enhancing the safety and reliability of nuclear facilities, the Fire Watch Cart facilitates the integration of nuclear power into sustainable energy strategies, ensuring public safety while promoting environmental stewardship for a future powered by clean, reliable energy.
