Project Type: Senior Design
Title: ENG Aviation Utilization Matrix Project
Abstract: ENG, a small on-demand medical charter service in Texas, has grown rapidly over two years, especially in organ transportation. Serving Houston and Dallas, ENG operates 24/7 and has become a key player in the state, attracting hospitals and organ procurement organizations with its commitment to timely, reliable service. As the company looks to expand, it faces challenges related to pilot and crew utilization. With plans to acquire 15 additional aircraft over the next three years, the company must determine the optimal crew pairing for each plane to ensure high pilot utilization. The project aims to assess whether more planes necessitate more pilots, and if so, whether the relationship is linear or influenced by other factors. The goal is to develop a crew pairing matrix that helps ENG manage its growth efficiently.
