Title: Cobot Structures & Handling System
Abstract: The goal of this project is to create a portable system of accessories for demonstrating the effectiveness of cobots in various environments. This system has three primary components. First, we designed a stanchion that is portable and maintains rigidity to perform non-precision tasks. Next, a variable popup feeder system will be designed to accommodate several generic parts with minimal changes between each part loaded into the feeder system. Finally, interchangeable fingertips and a system to exchange end-effectors autonomously will also be designed to allow for further flexibility between items. This semester, the stanchion will be tested to validate the analysis performed last semester and the stanchion aesthetics will be improved. The pop-up feeder will be modeled, built, and tested, the interchangeable fingertips and end-effector system will be developed, and the cobot will be programmed to work with these finger solutions. This project offers a cheaper and more versatile solution compared to other professional prefabricated solutions which offers a better overall cobot system to our client.
