| Title: | UTA Autonomous Supply-Following Wagon |
| Abstract: | The UTA Autonomous Supply-Following Wagon (Blaze Runner) is an autonomous vehicle that is intended to be used to help operators carry up to 200 pounds worth of heavy objects like event supplies or cases of water. The electrical system of the wagon is operated with a 12v lead acid battery similar to the batteries in cars. The wagon uses a Luxonis camera with computer vision algorithms to track and follow a user that is wearing a specific tracking code to avoid confusion with other pedestrians. The wagon also has a collision avoidance system built into it to prevent crashing into obstacles or pedestrians by using data from multiple ultrasonic sensors around the wagon and a Lidar sensor in the center. All of the core processing and coordination of everything in the system is handled by a Raspberry PI running the ROS2 operating system to align with industry standards and take advantage of its cutting edge robotics features. The wagon also comes with safety features like a physical emergency stop button, which can be pressed in case of an emergency to stop the wagon. Finally, there is a companion mobile application to interface with the wagon for ease of use. |
