| Title: | Cassette Drive |
| Abstract: | Cassette Drive is a car dashboard designed in the style of Cassette Futurism. It blends retro aesthetics with modern digital functionality. Cassette Drive is designed to replace or supplement a car's existing dashboard by displaying real-time vehicle information through an interactive interface. Unlike typical touchscreen dashboards that prioritize minimalism, Cassette Drive emphasizes tactile simplicity, vintage-inspired design, and responsive performance. The Cassette Drive system is built using a modular, layered architecture that separates key functionality. Each layer is designed to operate independently with well-defined interfaces, allowing the system to remain scalable, maintainable, and efficient within an embedded automotive environment. Along with standard icons and features implemented through hardware, backend, and UI design, the dashboard displays real-time navigation information for lane departure detection, forward collision warning, and vehicle proximity alerts. Furthermore, it is integrated with a virtual AI assistant for expert assistance with any dashboard or car-related queries. The assistant is optimized for use while driving by allowing for speech input and rendering output through both audio and visual feedback. This dashboard is intended to appeal to a diverse audience, including car enthusiasts and hobbyists, automotive designers and researchers, students and developers, and custom automotive shops and restoration specialists. |
