Title: Phosphorus Recovery from Wastewater using Biosolid Beads
Abstract: Excess phosphorus in wastewater contributes to eutrophication and environmental pollution. This project evaluates phosphorus recovery from wastewater using biosolid beads made from sludge cake. Batch experiments are conducted using both synthetic wastewater and real anaerobic digester effluent to assess performance under controlled conditions. Different bead dosages are tested, and phosphorus concentrations are measured using ion chromatography (IC) to determine removal efficiency. By converting waste biosolids into functional adsorbents, this research aims to develop a low-cost strategy for nutrient recovery while reducing environmental impacts related to excess phosphorus discharge.
