| Title: | Development of Dip and Spin Coating Devices |
| Abstract: | The Bozlar Nanoscience Lab (BNL), is involved in researching fire-resistant coatings to help mitigate the risk posed by electric vehicle fires. To better facilitate this research and other current and future endeavors, they are in need of a spin coating and dip coating device. These devices are machines that can be used to coat a desired substrate with a thin, controlled, and uniform layer of solution. Specifically, for the BNL, these devices can be used to enable and speed up test sample preparation. To help the BNL achieve its goals we have designed and prototyped two coating instruments, both a spin and dip coater, utilizing a mix of 3D-printed and commercial off-the-shelf parts. |
