| Title: | Atlas |
| Abstract: | Aero Mavs proudly presents Atlas, our most advanced rocket to date, designed to reach a target apogee of 10,000 feet at the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) this June. Atlas represents a major step forward in our team’s technical capabilities, integrating an in-house roll control system and an actively controlled air brake system to improve flight stability and apogee accuracy. The roll control system is engineered to actively minimize rotational motion during ascent, improving aerodynamic efficiency and maintaining a stable trajectory. Complementing this system, the air brake mechanism dynamically adjusts drag in real time, enabling precise altitude targeting and reducing the risk of overshoot. Together, these systems enhance flight performance, control authority, and overall mission reliability. Atlas builds upon the knowledge gained from previous competition rockets and reflects Aero Mavs’ continued commitment to innovation, rigorous testing, and data-driven design refinement. By combining advanced control systems with structural optimization and careful integration, Atlas demonstrates our progression toward more complex and competitive aerospace engineering solutions. |
