Students in computing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex are invited to apply for the three-day experience (February 18-20, 2022) of OurCS@DFW workshops. They will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students on projects led by researchers and get assistance from graduate students. In addition to the workshops, OurCS@DFW also features activities such as a keynote speech, panels, mentoring and advising about graduate studies and career pathways, community building, and social activities. Following OurCS@DFW, each of the workshop teams will present their projects at SCRF, UTA's Student Computing Research Festival, on February 21, 2022.

OurCS@DFW also features two pre-event tutorials: Introduction to Python on January 28-29, 2022, and Introduction to Data Science on February 12, 2022.

While the workshops are for undergraduate and high-school students, the tutorials are open to students at all levels.

We especially encourage women and students from groups that are underrepresented in computing to apply. The underrepresented population includes Blacks and African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Native Pacific Islanders, women, and persons with disabilities. Awards will be given to the teams with the best performance.

Along with the workshops and tutorials, OurCS@DFW also features activities such as a keynote speech, panels, mentoring and advising about graduate studies and career pathways, community building, and social activities. Following OurCS@DFW, each of the workshop teams will present their projects at SCRF, UTA's Student Computing Research Festival, on February 21, 2022.

Online participation available. Please refer to the application page for details.
