Title: Light Farms Residential Subdivision
Abstract: The primary objective of this project is to develop a sustainable single-family subdivision on a ±15-Acre Tract in Celina, TX. The client has requested that a maximum of thirty, 80'x130' lots be developed. Major civil engineering elements that will be encountered are lot grading, horizontal and vertical street design, utilities, drainage (hydrology and hydraulics), and bridge/culvert design. At the end of this project, we will have a civil plan set covering the grading, drainage, street, and utility design. The consistency and organization of our plans is imperative for each component to align successfully. The major constraint that our team will have to overcome will be the existing site conditions. The site is surrounded on three sides by floodplain, with a railway on the fourth side. In order to be able to access this site, either a bridge or culvert will need to be designed to cross the southern tributary. Additionally, due to the proximity to the railway, a noise barrier must be designed. This barrier will be put in place on the east side of the site and will take the form of either a berm or wall.
