Faculty Advisor(s): David Wetz
Department: Electrical Engineering
Project Type: Senior Design
Title: SuperSensor
Abstract: The SuperSensor senior design project is a collaboration between students of the UTA Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering Departments. The sensor board consists of non-invasive environmental sensors that record data such as temperature, pressure, reflectivity, and other measurements. These sensors are connected to a microcontroller called the BeagleBone Black that will preprocess the data. Along with the sensor board, a software defined radio (SDR) is also attached to the microcontroller. The SDR intercepts and demodulates AM, FM, and phase-modulated signals. The microcontroller uses Amazon Web Services to apply machine learning to the collected data. This preprocessed data is then used to interpret the sensor board's surroundings and display the information on a graphical interface.
