UTA Heads West
It was another good year in the College of Engineering! Our undergraduate enrollment, research expenditures, and course offerings continue to grow. Our students and faculty are highly talented, and it is inspiring to see the innovation and ideas coming from our classrooms and labs.
I am encouraged that we continue to win ever-larger research grants that exemplify our role as a highly active research institution. For the past several years, we have posted record research expenditures, and our faculty are pursuing collaborations with universities across the country to expand our reach and build strong relationships for innovation and discovery.
Our Resource and Energy Engineering undergraduate program is in its second year, and our recruitment efforts are paying off with healthy enrollment. We created the Kelcy Warren Resource and Energy Engineering Laboratory last year to support the unique requirements of the program, and we look forward to continued growth and collaboration with industry.
In an exciting announcement in August, President Jennifer Cowley revealed that UTA will expand its reach to the western edge of Fort Worth with a new campus called UTA West. The new campus will foster economic development and meet the educational needs of one of the fastest-growing areas in the country.
This is good news for the college, as the curriculum at UTA West will prioritize fields that align with the growth of the region. We look forward to learning more about what courses and degree programs will be offered and future plans for this exciting development.
Additionally, we continue to offer courses toward master's degrees in software engineering and engineering management at UTA Fort Worth in the city's downtown, affirming our efforts to provide quality engineering education and serve local industry.
Thank you for your continued support of the college!
