Alumna Named TSPE's Engineer of the Year

Halff's Associate Vice President and Project Advisor Jennifer “Jenny” LaFoy ('05 MS, Civil Engineering) was named the 2025 Engineer of the Year by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). She is just the second woman ever to receive the honor in the 51-year history of the award.

LaFoy has built a distinguished career leading water resources and environmental practices for municipalities, counties, transportation departments, toll authorities, and flood control districts. She has successfully grown a water resources practice, with expertise spanning stormwater and flood control, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stream restoration, permitting, regulatory compliance, and FEMA coordination.

LaFoy has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including being named the Texas Engineering Foundation's Distinguished Engineer of the Year in 2023, Engineer of the Year by the TSPE Dallas Chapter in 2019, and the Young Engineer of the Year by both TSPE and the TSPE Dallas Chapter in 2012. ₪
