New Minor Launched
Continuing the College of Engineering's long connection to space flight—including two pioneering astronaut alumni and dozens of graduates working for NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, and many other space-related companies—the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department began offering a space systems minor this fall.
The new minor helps students build a range of skills related to astronautics and spacecraft systems engineering in areas such as orbital mechanics, spacecraft propulsion, spacecraft dynamics and control, spacecraft design, and space exploration.
“Given the increased investments in the space sector, I anticipate an ecosystem in North Texas that will support innovation and growth of businesses focused on space by leveraging our expertise and experience in aeronautics and aviation,” says Kamesh Subbarao, interim chair of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. ₪
