Supporting Students in Need

The Student Emergency Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to currently enrolled students who are struggling financially due to circumstances outside their control and require emergency monetary assistance as a last resort. Funds are used to aid in short-term crisis matters that would otherwise jeopardize the student’s ability to attend UTA.

“In recent months, we learned firsthand how many of our students really are in precarious financial situations,” says J. G. McLaughlin, director of development for the College of Engineering. “The Student Emergency Assistance Fund allowed UTA to help students quickly in tangible ways that enabled them to continue attending classes. Many needed assistance with basic needs. We appreciate the support of our alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who donated, and we’re hoping to continue to build the fund through their support in years to come.”
