Research Award Established
Larry Stephens ('79 MS, '72 BS, Aerospace Engineering) was the first in his family to attend college. At UTA, he gained the skills and knowledge that led to his productive career at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
Now, the College of Engineering Board of Advisors member is giving back by establishing the Lawrence Stephens Award for Outstanding Research Achievement to recognize faculty achievements in research.
“There are several areas of financial need in the college. Undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships are obvious areas and are very much needed, but I previously established endowments in those areas and was looking to do something different, like encouraging and recognizing our amazing faculty,” Stephens says. “I hope other alumni will follow suit and support the college as they can, as well.” ₪
